Bubbling Spring Branch Cascades

About

Length: 0.25 Miles
Rating: Medium
Dogs: Not Recommended

Bubbling Spring Branch Cascades is a multi-tiered hidden gem along the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway NC-215. Though the climb down to the trail is steep and rocky, its short length makes it hard to miss, and it’s absolutely worth the extra dirt on your boots.

Take in 3 tiers of rushing water as it slides down a smooth, natural rock surface. Looking to beat the heat? The shallow pool is a popular spot to take a dip during the summer–-just remember, never climb on slippery rocks, take heed of loose stones, and never dive.

From the NC-215 Blue Ridge Parkway Access Point, MP 423.3, continue about 1.8 miles to either of two travelled pull-offs on the right side of the road. To reach the cascades, locate the dip or gulley beneath the guardrail at the second pull-off and carefully climb down the bank to the trail beside the creek.
