Haywood County, the Elk Capital of North Carolina, invites you to have some fun on us this summer in our corner of the Western North Carolina mountains!
When you book a qualifying stay, you’ll receive up to $200 in Elk Bucks to spend at over 100 local restaurants, shops, attractions, and more while exploring the best of our five welcoming mountain towns: Canton, Clyde, Lake Junaluska, Maggie Valley, and Waynesville.
How It Works
- Book a qualifying stay at a Haywood County accommodation.
- Submit the digital Claim Your Elk Bucks form before your stay.
- Receive a digital Elk Bucks card by email if eligible.
- Spend your Elk Bucks at participating local businesses➝
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify for Elk Bucks, your reservation must:
- Be made on or after June 23, 2025
- Be at an accommodation in Haywood County, NC
- Include 2 or more consecutive nights (more details below)
- Take place entirely between July 1 and September 30, 2025

- Elk Bucks are not redeemable for cash or any other value and are nontransferable.
- Expiration: All Elk Bucks expire at 12:00 AM on October 1, 2025. Unused balances after this date will no longer be valid.
- Elk Bucks cannot be claimed during your stay or after your stay ends—no retroactive submissions.
- One redemption per party per booking. The same visitor may only redeem Elk Bucks once per calendar month during the campaign.
- Upon submission of the Claim My Elk Bucks form, Visit Haywood will verify the submitted booking receipt. Elk Bucks cards will be delivered within 2 days of your reported arrival date.
- It is the responsibility of the visitor to notify Visit Haywood of any cancellations, rescheduling, or other changes that may impact the eligibility of the visitor to receive Elk Bucks.
