Whether you need a little pep in your step each morning or an afternoon pick-me-up, there’s something about a cup of coffee that lifts our spirits. Not to mention, it also gives us a really good excuse to enjoy a sweet pastry and some time with friends.
Lucky for you, there are many unique and cozy spots to grab a cup of coffee in Waynesville. We’ve rounded up some of the best coffee spots around town to help make the decision just a little easier.
PANACEA COFFEE HOUSE
All it takes is one look at their Instagram feed to want to stop by Panacea Coffee House. Located in Waynesville’s historic Frog Level district, Panacea is located in a refurbished warehouse overlooking Richland Creek. Grab a latte or your favorite tea and step outside on their back deck to enjoy a relaxing day underneath a canopy of trees. They also have a delicious menu of breakfast and lunch options if you’re in need of a bite to eat.
SMOKY MOUNTAIN COFFEE ROASTERS
When you walk in the door to Smoky Mountain Coffee Roasters, you’ll be greeted with the comforting aromas of freshly roasted coffee. In addition to freshly brewed coffee, enjoy specialty espresso drinks, organic teas, or indulge in their weekly featured creations. For a snack, try some of their pastries or specialty pimento cheese. Like what you’re drinking? Grab a pound of beans to take home!
DILLSBORO CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Known for their delicious sweet treats, Main Street’s Dillsboro Chocolate Factory also features its own espresso bar that serves up a delicious variety of caffeinated concoctions. These are guaranteed to perfectly pair with some fresh chocolate or fudge. They also have plenty of seating in case you might want to rest your feet after exploring the shops and galleries in Downtown Waynesville.
ORCHARD COFFEE
On the Depot Street hill and across from the Haywood County Courthouse, you’ll find this gem: Orchard Coffee. Award-winning latte artist, Cabell Tice, opened up his coffee shop in May of 2019 with hopes of providing delicious, art-inspired coffee and a relaxing atmosphere to Waynesville. Not only is their coffee delicious, but their shop’s interior has a cool, casual atmosphere perfect for relaxing or chatting with friends.
So, if you’re looking to “java nice day,” then stop by one of these coffee shops for a caffeinated treat. OR try them all and find your favorite. Be sure to tag us in your aesthetically pleasing coffee pics with #Waynesville or @VisitNCSmokies.
